The RK
Located in a back-alley of downtown Nagoya, the RK is a top-secret non-destination for an exclusive crowd of non-guests.
Designed by an anonymous but incredibly famous non-architect fashion designer, the RK doesn’t accept reservations.
The hotel is fully staffed, except for a receptionist. There has never been, nor will there ever be, a receptionist at the RK.
The coffee machines in the kitchen have never oozed the black stimulant. (Note: the “guest” in this image is a cardboard cut-out)
The shoeshine machines in the hallways are always on. They hum softly.
The mirrored elevators have never borne passengers, nor unaccompanied luggage.
The closets at RK are empty. They must remain so forever.
The room service equipment has never been used, but it’s there.
There’s hot and cold running water everywhere, in RK. But not a drop has ever flowed.
There are no TVs in the rooms, or in the lobby. The armchairs and sofas of the ground floor’s “public areas” are slavishly faithful reproductions of pieces designed by Carlo Mollino.
Anything leather in the hotel is stingray. That’s the only skin in the RK.
No business meetings have ever been conducted in the RK Conference Room.
You can’t come in for a look. Nobody can.
The only way to enter the RK is through Hotel Kranepool.

Sito in un vicolo nel centro di Nagoya, l’Hotel RK è una non-destinazione ultra-segreta per una esclusiva casta di non-ospiti.
Concepito da una celebre stilista non-architetta , RK non accetta prenotazioni.
Il personale dell’albergo non include la reception. Non c’è e non ci sarà mai nessuno alla reception di RK.
Le macchine del caffè nell’antisettica cucina non hanno mai secreto lo stimolante nero. (Nota: la modella nella foto non è che una immagine stampata su cartone)
Gli ascensori specchiati non hanno mai portato passeggeri, né bagagli.
Le macchine lustrascarpe nei corridoi sono in moto perpetuo. Ronzano sommesse.
Il servizio in camera c’è, ma non è mai stato effetuato.
Gli armadi di RK, seppure vasti, sono vuoti. E così devono restare.
Non vi sono televisori nelle stanze, né nella hall. Le poltrone e i sofà a pianterreno sono riproduzioni di mobili progettati da Carlo Mollino.
Tutti gli oggetti in albergo ricoperti di pelle sono ricoperti di pelle di razza. È l’unica pelle in vista, a RK.
Non si è mai tenuta una riunione nella Sala Conferenze RK.
Non puoi entrare per dare un’occhiata. Nessuno può.
L’unico modo per accedere a RK è attraverso Hotel Kranepool.
